During my month-long stay in Madrid, I visited a ton of cocktail bars and rooftops. It’s a great way to meet other people when you’re a digital nomad, plus who doesn’t love a nice cocktail after a long day of work?
Madrid’s cocktail scene is as diverse as the city itself, boasting everything from old-school establishments to innovative newcomers. Whether you’re a connoisseur or a casual drinker, you’re sure to find a spot that suits your taste. So, let’s dive in and explore some of the best cocktail bars in Madrid.
Best Cocktail Bars in Madrid
Navigating through Madrid’s vibrant nightlife, I stumbled upon some of the best cocktail bars that the city has to offer. The cocktail scene in Madrid is as diverse as it is captivating, with each spot offering its unique twist. Below are my absolute favorites, each offering some of the best places to drink in Madrid.
La Santoria
By far, La Santoria became my go-to while in Madrid. The ambiance here is unique and warm. Hidden around the corner of a cobblestone road, the entrance can be unassuming but you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you walk in. My favorite part is that on Mondays, they offer free tarot readings. However, do remember to leave a tip! You’ll find it open from 7 PM till late on all days except Sundays.
Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid Rooftop
If you want to see one of the coolest bars in Madrid, you should check out the rooftop at Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid. The breathtaking views come with an added benefit, complimentary tapas. You can enjoy this experience for free from 12 PM to 2 AM, all week long.
Azotea at Circulo Bellas Artes
Azotea at Circulo Bellas Artes is one of the best rooftops in Madrid, offering panoramic views of Palacio Cibeles and Gran Via. Plan to arrive here at least an hour before sunset for the best experience, or even reserve a dinner table. It does cost five euros to enter, but if you’re just looking for a place to drink without the charge, I recommend stopping by the Aperol Spritz pop-up across the street. Azotea is open from 9 AM to 2 AM, Monday to Sunday.
1862 Dry Bar
1862 Dry Bar offers a fabulous range of drinks in a cozy setting, making it ideal for cocktail lovers. I stumbled upon this bar after a long walk around the city, and it did not disappoint. It’s open every day from 7 PM to 2 AM.
Jacks Library
Jacks Library takes you by surprise with its intriguing speakeasy vibes. Here you can enjoy amazing drinks, but remember to book a reservation before you go. It’s open from Wednesday to Saturday starting at 8 PM.
Bless Hotel Madrid Rooftop
If you’re visiting the Sorolla Museum, Bless Hotel Madrid Rooftop is the perfect place to relax and unwind after. You can also take a dip in the beautiful pool if you’d like. It’s open from Monday to Sunday.
47 Cocktail Bar
47 Cocktail Bar is another great spot on my list of best cocktail bars in Madrid. You’ll be spoilt for drink choices at this place. You can drop by any day from 1 PM to 1:30 AM.
La Analogica
La Analogica is a classic spot that blends modern cocktails with a relaxed setting. It opens its doors from 7 PM to 3 AM, Tuesday to Saturday.
Baton Rouge Cocktail Bar
I found Baton Rouge Cocktail Bar to be high-energy and very lively. The bar opens daily from 7 PM to 2:30 AM.
Wall Street
Finally, there’s Wall Street, a modern cocktail bar that offers drinks based on the stock market. Visit here anytime from Tuesday to Saturday starting at 8 PM.
Whether you prefer a quiet evening or a lively night, these choices will surely cater to your preferences.
