It’s a brand-new property that feels more like a boutique guesthouse than a typical backpacker spot. I stayed in one of their private rooms, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best hostels in Lisbon if you value privacy, cleanliness, and a calm atmosphere.
Why I Chose Boavista83 Hostel
I booked Boavista83 because I wanted a private space but didn’t want to isolate myself in a hotel. I like having my own room while still being able to chat with other travelers in shared areas. Boavista83 gave me exactly that. The hostel is recently opened, so it still has that fresh, uncrowded feeling that’s hard to find in popular Lisbon hostels. Everything from the lobby to the bathrooms feels brand new, spotless, and thoughtfully designed.

My Private Room Experience
My private room at Boavista83 felt more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. It was spacious and modern, decorated in bright and colorful tones that matched Lisbon’s lively spirit. And there even was a juliette balcony that opened up to the street below.
Inside the room, I had a flat-screen TV, fast Wi-Fi, towels, toiletries, and even a hairdryer. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The ensuite bathroom was another highlight. I can’t overstate how nice it is to have your own bathroom in a hostel, instead of trekking down a hallway for a shower. Here, both dorms and private rooms come with their own ensuite, which is a huge win.
If I could change one small thing, it would be adding a mini fridge or shared refrigerator. As someone who likes to save leftovers or keep snacks, that’s something I’d love to see in the future.

While I didn’t stay in a dorm, I did peek into one , and they looked just as fresh as my private room. The bunks are modern “pod style,” each with curtains for privacy, a light, and a plug. Dorm beds start around €15 per night, which is amazing value for Lisbon — especially considering the location and comfort level.

There are also plenty of local cafés nearby, including Rhodó Bagels, which quickly became my favorite breakfast spot.

Design Details That Stand Out
Boavista83’s aesthetic is one of my favorite things about it. The building is sleek and modern, filled with natural light and bright accents. The elevator is a big plus, especially if you’re arriving with heavy luggage or flying in from another country. And they offer free luggage storage, something I thought would be a given in a hostel/hotel in modern times but now I’ve noticed some charge for it, what a shame!
The Future of Boavista83
When I chatted with one of the owners, I learned that they’re in the process of building an on-site restaurant, scheduled to open around mid-2026. They also plan to host regular community events once the hostel gets busier.
